Gamestop Super Nes Classic Edition

If you happened to miss out on the frustratingly limited number of NES Classic Edition consoles available at GameStop earlier this week, you now have one more opportunity to pick one up. Unfortunately, it’s going to cost you a little extra, as GameStop is only offering NES Classic bundles on its website.

Got it from gamestop without any scalper price. Date published: 2019-09-14. You’ve been waiting a long time for this. Trust us, it was worth the wait. The Super NES Classic Edition system looks and feels just like the original ’90s home console, except it’s super small.

On Wednesday morning, GameStop reopened orders for three NES Classic Edition bundles, noting that they will not begin shipping until February 1st. This is effectively a preorder, as the product won’t begin shipping immediately, but if you’re willing to pay between $20 and $70 extra for the mini NES, this might be worth jumping on. There’s no telling when stock will be replenished again, after all.

These are the three bundles available as of 11:00 AM ET on Wednesday morning:

  • Nintendo NES Classic Edition with Miniboss Wireless Controller — $79.99
  • Nintendo NES Classic Zelda Edition Bundle — $124.99
  • Nintendo NES Classic Edition Bundle — $129.99

UPDATE 1: The Miniboss bundle appears to be sold out as of 11:30 AM.
UPDATE 2: All three bundles are sold out on GameStop.com as of 12:20 PM.

If the additional cost isn’t worth it for you, try calling your local Best Buy and GameStop stores throughout the week. While these consoles are still incredibly difficult to find, retailers appear to be receiving units at a somewhat more reasonable pace so far in 2017.

Nintendo announced last year that it would stop production on the NES Classic and SNES Classic in 2019. We're well into 2019 now, and listings for the retro systems have been disappearing from all the major retailers. As of right now, you can get an NES Classic from Walmart for a marked-up price, but it's sold out nearly everywhere else. As for the SNES Classic, it's already gotten steep mark-ups everywhere it's still available, though GameStop has refurbished units for $74.99. Here’s where you can still get the NES Classic and SNES Classic right now.

Unlike the original NES, this one has HDMI output so it can easily connect to any modern television. And to help modern gamers acclimate to the challenging (or downright unfair) parts in many old games, you can save at any time while you play, and restore that save if you die.
