EPFO's new Composite Claim Forms (Aadhar Based/ Non-Aadhar) for PF Withdrawals (full/ partial) applicable w.e.f. 2017, which have replaced the earlier withdrawal Claim Forms 19, 10C and 31 (including UAN based forms). Now partial withdrawals are to be allowed on Self Certification basis, instead of requiring other documents/ certificates.

All members of EPFO are automatically enrolled for the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS). Under this scheme, a member becomes eligible for a pension after retirement at the age of 58 years. However, a member can opt for a reduced pension after 50 years at a discounted rate of 4% each year. The member can apply for monthly pension by filling EPF Form 10D. The pension amount that a member receives on retirement depends on the monthly pensionable salary and the total pensionable service.

How to Fill EPF Form 10D

EPF Form 10D can be filled offline only and the member has to mention the following details in the form:

Mobile Number – To get status updates from time to time.

1) By whom is the pension claimed

    • The applicant has to mention any one of the following in this field.
        1. Member
        2. Widow/Widower
        3. Major/Orphan
        4. Guardian
        5. Nominee
        6. Dependent Paren

2) Type of pension claimed

      1. SUPERANNUATION PENSION – Monthly pension on retirement at the age of 58 years
      2. REDUCED PENSION – Monthly pension at a discounted rate of 4% per annum starting from the age of 50 years.
      3. DISABLEMENT PENSION – Early monthly pension amount due to permanent and total disablement
      4. WIDOW & CHILDREN PENSION – Monthly pension for the widow and children after the death of the member
      5. ORPHAN PENSION – Monthly pension benefits for the surviving sons/daughters of the deceased member up to their age of 25 years
      6. NOMINEE PENSION – Monthly pension for the nominee declared after the death of the member in case there are no family members
      7. DEPENDENT PARENT – Monthly pension for dependent parents in case the member dies without a family (spouse and children) or a nominee.

  • The form has to be duly filled by the applicant and get it certified by the authorized officer of the last establishment
  • The employer then has to submit the form to the EPFO regional office
  • Required documents have to be enclosed with the form
  • The EPF officer verifies the details and initiates the process of monthly pension disbursal in the account of the beneficiary under the Employees’ Pension Scheme.

Documents required to be enclosed with EPF Form 10D

  • Descriptive role of pensioner and his/her specimen signature/Thumb impression (in duplicate) (The Form is enclosed with the Claim Form).
  • 3 passport size photographs.
  • In case of permanent and total disablement, the employee should undergo a complete medical examination before the Medical Board appointed by the EPFO. The relevant documents have to be duly attached with the form.
  • The establishment has to mention the certificate and wage particulars of the member at the time of retirement/death.
  • In case the establishment is closed and no authorized officer is appointed, the application has to be forwarded through anyone from the list of the magistrate, gazetted officer, bank manager or any other authorized officer as may be approved by the Commissioner.
